Michael

Michael has a contagious smile and pure heart. He hasn't met anyone he doesn't know. While Michael is essentially nonverbal, anyone spending just a few minutes with Michael will set aside their most pressing challenges. One will never find a more loving and caring individual. Shortly after Michael was born a genetic test confirmed he has Down Syndrome. Understandably, his parents grieved that day over the loss of the son they had wished for and were fearful of what lay ahead.

Over the last twenty plus years, Michael has opened the hearts of his parents and sisters to the needs of adults with disabilities - who for their lifetime are dependent on others for their most basic needs. Today, his parent's greatest fear is a paradox that Michael will outlive them or that they will outlive him. To everyone he touches, Michael is a gift from God.
