Preston
Preston breaks through all barriers and is able to open doors for friendship with so many people. Some of the best friends his family has today are a result of Preston's ability to reach out to other people. He never meets a stranger because he has a genuine interest in others ad stop people and asks their name. Preston is like the glue that holds people, family and community closer together.
Preston was born with Down Syndrome, and it is something that has shaped each of his family members in a very significant and positive way. Preston's life has inspired both of his sibling to work in professions that help others, and has provided the opportunity for his family to walk alongside other parents and families with ties to persons with special needs. Together they have asked questions about their children's future like, "What if our children outlive their parents, family, friends or loving care-givers?" Preston, like so many others, will need protection, guidance and a holistic community long after they are gone.
