CUSTODIAL ASSOCIATE

Reports to: Facilities Coordinator

Job Summary: The Custodial Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment across Wings facilities, including the Program Center, Community Commons, and Residences. This role supports daily operations by completing routine cleaning tasks, identifying maintenance needs, and helping ensure a welcoming environment for staff, members, and visitors.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors in all areas

  • Empty trash and recycling bins; replace liners as needed

  • Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces (door handles, light switches, etc.)

  • Restock supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soap

  • Dust furniture, fixtures, and surfaces

  • Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors

  • Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns promptly

  • Follow established cleaning schedules and safety procedures

  • Assist with basic facility upkeep as needed

  • Secure buildings when required (lock doors, turn off lights, set alarms)

  • All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and use of custodial equipment

  • Ability to safely handle and use cleaning chemicals

  • Understanding of workplace safety standards

  • Strong attention to detail and thoroughness

  • Ability to manage time and work independently

  • Clear and professional communication skills

  • Ability to lift 30–50 lbs as needed

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods

  • Dependable with a strong work ethic

Requirements:

  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role and safely perform assigned duties

  • Ability to document and communicate completed tasks per shift

  • Ability to work days, evenings and weekends as necessary | Exact schedule is flexible based on needs

Qualifications & Experiences:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Custodial or janitorial experience preferred
