COMMUNITY LIVING COACH [FULL-TIME]

Reports to: Community Living Director

Job Summary: The Community Living Coach serves as the shift lead and supports residents by providing cues, prompts, reminders, and encouragement for daily routines, schedules, meals, transportation, and community activities. This role helps coordinate staff during assigned shifts and maintain community expectations while encouraging independence and meaningful participation in a positive, respectful, non-clinical community living environment. Coaches provide general oversight while residents manage their own daily living tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide verbal cues, prompts, reminders, and encouragement to support residents in completing daily routines, transitions, household tasks, and participation in community activities

  • Support meals and snacks while promoting independence, healthy choices  

  • Transport residents to activities, appointments, and community outings using Wings vehicles 

  • Monitor resident well-being and communicate concerns promptly to the Community Living Director 

  • Coordinate with third-party providers as needed while maintaining a coaching-based, nonclinical role 

  • Promote positive social interaction, communication, and respect among residents 

  • Provide general oversight of community expectations, routines, and shared living responsibilities 

  • Complete required documentation and communication logs in a timely and accurate manner 

  • Follow all Wings policies and procedures and carry out additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; organized, flexible, and attentive to safety and detail 

  • Ability to promote independence and dignity for residents in a coaching-based environment 

  • Positive attitude, patience, and reliability 

  • Team-oriented and willing to collaborate with staff, families, volunteers and external providers 

  • Basic computer skills for documentation and communication

Requirements:

  • Ability to work assigned shifts, as scheduled 

  • Successful completion of required background checks and training 

  • Meet physical requirements necessary to safely perform assigned duties 

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a 15-passenger van 

  • Passion for serving adults with developmental disabilities

Qualifications & Experience: High School Diploma, Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
